一群社區領袖於昨日齊聚美南新聞媒體中心大廳，舉行中外媒體聯合記者會，公開表達對德州議會所提出之HB17歧視性法案的強烈反對。該法案試圖禁止來自中國大陸、伊朗與北韓的公民在美國購買土地，嚴重侵犯少數族裔的基本權益，也對亞裔社群造成不公平的污名與傷害。

Opposing The Discriminatory HB17 Bill

Yesterday, a group of community leaders gathered at the Southern News Media Center to hold a joint press conference with both the Chinese and international media, voicing strong opposition to Texas House Bill 17. This bill aims to prohibit citizens from mainland China, Iran, and North Korea from purchasing land in the United States—a move that has been widely condemned as discriminatory and xenophobic.

Leaders warned that such legislation not only violates the rights of immigrants and minority communities, particularly Asians, but also fuels division and undermines America’s values of equality and liberty. They called on people across all communities to unite in defense of constitutional rights and the fundamental principle of inclusion in a diverse society.
