Is the Cold War Returning?
U.S. and Poland signed an agreement Wednesday to place a U.S. missile base in Poland just 115 miles from Russia. This followed a move by Moscow of possible military action there.

For many Poles, this treaty is a guarantee?of safety for themselves in the face of a military
attack. After the signing the agreement, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice dismissed
any suggestion that the ten missile defense interceptors would be there for reasons other than what Washington states are for the defense of Europe in case of an attack from Iran.

Russia Generals have threaten Poland if they accepted the agreement and the base, possibly even with nuclear weapons. Secretary Rice said, "The Russians are losing their credibility and Russia will pay the price for their invasion to Georgia."

Approval for the missile sites are still needed from the Czech and Polish parliaments. No date has been set for the lawmakers in Warsaw to vote, but most of the Polish people are in favor of the bill.

We are very worried about this new development in Europe, especially in Poland. We don't want to see a return to the “Cold War.”
