Flight Attendant Sues Church
Pastor |
|
|
|
|
Continental Airlines flight attendant Sharon Brown has sued
Houston Lakewood Church co-pastor Victoria Osteen. Brown claims
that Osteen assaulted her during a flight from Houston to
Colorado.
In State Judge Patricia Hancock's
court, more than one hundred thirty people came to answer
the lawyer's questions for jury duty consideration. I?was one of
them. We all came to the court house at eight o'clock in the
morning. Attorneys on both sides asked all kind of question,
during the jury selection. A lot of people said they probably
would give Victoria Osteen more deference because of her
reputation.
A prospective juror stated that, "He
has gotten me though a lot of tough times. I would believe what
he has to say. I have a lot of respect for him." He was
referring to Joel Osteen who is Victoria's husband. Although he
is not a party in the case, Joel Osteen stayed at his wife's
side
in the court room throughout the proceeding.
Osteen's attorney, Rusty Hardin, said
that his client, who was with her husband and her children on
the flight, had asked the flight attendant for a napkin to clean
up a mess. She then had a brief verbal conformation with Brown
before turning to her seat. Brown claims she has lost her
religious faith and now suffers from hemorrhoids because of the
incident.
The trial will go on for several
days, and because Osteen is a world-famous pastor and celebrity.
it will draw a lot of attention. |
