Obama Raises Big Bucks in
Houston |

Barack
Obama was in Houston’s “rich district” Thursday night and
collected more than 1.5 million dollars. He told River Oaks
residents that the nation needs to develop wind and solar energy
and other alternative energy sources. He said that an energy
policy is essentially nonexistent, which may seem like it's been
pretty good for Houston, but even those in energy business here
in Houston will tell you it is not sustainable in the long run.
The audience included
local lawyers, politicians and businessmen. In total, they all
donated $2300.00 dollars and wanted to show support for the
Democratic Presidential candidate.
As the “Energy
Capital of the World,” Houston is the major research center for
finding new sources of energy. As Obama said, "Texas doesn't shy
from big challenges--Texas likes big".
The U.S. Presidential
election race is really heating up. The number one issue for
both parties’candidates is the economy, especially the soaring
gas?prices and the unemployment issue. Now the voters are
expecting the answers. |
