Oilman's Dream

Texas oilman, T. Boone Pickens asked Congress to clear the path for his plan to use wind and natural gas for our energy needs.

He told the Senate Homeland Security and Government affairs committee that government should begin building transmission lines for wind-generated power or provide the right of
way?on private land and extend tax credit so the private sector can build the lines.

Pickens has a plan to erect wind turbines in the midwest to replace 22 percent of U.S. power produced from natural gas.

He also told lawmakers that, "If government wants to build the grid, the they should do it; if government doesn’t want to do it, I think the money is there to do it in the privatesector."

Pickens's wind plan will be very challenging, but it can also solve part of our energy problems in the future.
