Number of Indian Billionaires Doubles in One Year Asia Forbes Magazine has published a list of Indian billionaires that doubled last year. Among those was Mukesh Ambani, 52, the petrochemicals tycoon who heads Reliance Industries. Ambani’s net worth is $32 billion dollars. In second in place was the CEO of Arcelor Mittal, Lakshmi Mittal, 59, who is worth $30 billion. The combined net worth of about a quarter of country's gross domestic products. The number of billionaires in The Mumbai benchmark index gained 76 percent this year and is heading for the best performance in 18 years. Some analysts fear it might be creating another bubble of inflation. One year ago the Mumbai benchmark plummeted by more than half, its worst performance on record.
